ABOUT TREY

TREY (Trauma Recovery for Exploited Youth) was founded in 2015 and subsequently as a registered Canadian charity with a goal to address human trafficking and sexual exploitation throughtout Nova Scotia and the Maritimes.

Today, that same compassion continues to guide our team as we walk beside survivors, educate our communities and reach out to at risk women with a goal to rebuild their lives with lasting independence and stability.

We know that healing from deep trauma takes time, often years, and that every survivor’s journey is unique. TREY was created to meet that need by walking alongside survivors for as long as it takes to rebuild safety, stability, and self-worth.

Our work is built on three core pillars: Safe Housing, Outreach and Aftercare, and Education and Prevention. Through these pillars, we provide a continuum of care that supports survivors wherever they are in their healing journey and helps communities recognize and prevent exploitation before it begins.
