TREY Nova Scotia | Effective October 22, 2026

TREY (Trauma Recovery for Exploited Youth) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information entrusted to us. We collect and use information responsibly, with care for the dignity, safety and confidentiality of everyone who interacts with our organization.

Information We Collect

When you donate, subscribe to our newsletter, register for an event or contact us, we may collect your name, contact information, donation history, communication preferences and information you voluntarily provide. Our website and service providers may also collect basic technical information, such as IP addresses and cookies.

How We Use Your Information

We use personal information to process donations, issue charitable tax receipts, maintain donor records, respond to inquiries, provide organizational updates, and share fundraising and event information.

TREY uses Keela to manage donor information and is transitioning its email and newsletter communications to that platform. Online donations may be processed through Stripe, CanadaHelps or other identified payment providers.

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share information with trusted service providers only as necessary for our operations, or when otherwise authorized or required by law.

Email Communications

You may unsubscribe from newsletters and fundraising communications at any time using the link in our emails or by contacting TREY. We may continue to send necessary administrative communications, including donation receipts.

Security and Confidentiality

TREY takes reasonable steps to safeguard personal information and limits access to authorized individuals. Information relating to survivors and individuals seeking support is handled with particular care under our confidentiality and safeguarding procedures.

We encourage anyone seeking confidential assistance to contact TREY directly rather than sharing sensitive information through general website forms.

Cookies and External Websites

Our website may use cookies and third-party services for functionality, security and website analytics. External websites linked from TREY’s website have their own privacy practices.

Your Information

You may contact TREY to request access to or correction of your personal information, update your communication preferences, or request deletion where permitted by law. We retain information only as long as necessary for our charitable activities and legal obligations.
